Databricks Data Engineering Essentials: From Ingestion to Deployment
with
Sascha Dittmann
with
Uwe Ricken
No More Roadblocks: Reaching for Secured Data with Microsoft Fabric
with
Heini Ilmarinen
Microsoft Fabric has become an exciting option to create a data platform solution in the cloud, but before we can do anything with it, we need data! Most likely data that is in a secured network and not reachable over the public internet. So what is the right method to reach it? In this pre-conference session, we’ll break down the different ways to securely bring your data into Fabric. Whether it’s in Azure inside a virtual network, or hosted in an on-prem environment, we’ll explore the best tools and techniques to connect to it. We'll also cover the areas where there currently are some restrictions to what is possible to accomplish. We will start the day with an overview of the items in Fabric and in which contexts we might be reaching for secured data. We will start figuring out secured networks by looking into how a private endpoint affects our Fabric environment, as well as when we can use managed private endpoints to connect to data sources. Then we'll dive into when and how can we use shortcuts to reach storage services in Azure and in other clouds. Specifically, we'll discover what are our options when the service has networking restrictions in place. In the second part of the day, we'll go through how the familiar on-prem and virtual network gateways from the Power BI side fit in the picture and when can you use them in the Fabric world. We'll then continue to go through how network limitations affect mirroring to Fabric. We'll conclude the day by pulling together everything we've covered to gain a full picture of when it is possible to use each of the capabilities. On the way we'll also go through the most necessary core concepts regarding networking and DNS, so it will be easier to understand networking in general. We’ll keep things practical with concrete demos and break down tricky concepts into easy-to-understand bits. Join this full day to learn about networking, as well as level up your Fabric skills; let's make sure no data is out of reach!

Thus providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
The organizer of this event will prioritize marginalized people's safety over privileged people's comfort.
The Less Short Version
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified as they'll be wearing branded shirts.
Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
We expect participants to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events.
